This afternoon, just before 3:00 p.m., Station 16 was dispatched to assist Station 14 Cranston Heights Fire Company with a residential fire on the 1700 block of Newport Gap Pike. Tower 16 and Engine 16, responded. Tower 16 operated as the first special, while Engine 16 arrived as the third engine. The crews performed searches, conducted ventilation, and assisted with fire extinguishment. Deputy 14 held the Cranston Heights command. All units were on scene for about an hour and a half.
