Elsmere Fire Company

The Elsmere Fire Company is seeking motivated individuals to fill the part time positions of Firefighter/EMT and EMT Only.

Nature of Position: Employees will be responsible for providing emergency medical care, and performing firefighting/rescue duties.

Responsibilities will also include: Routine checks on Fire & EMS equipment/tools, light vehicle maintenance, house chores and fire prevention.

Background Check and Driving Check will be performed by the company at no charge to the applicant.  

Hours of work: 06:00 – 18:00 & 18:00 - 06:00 7 Days a Week                      

Pay Rate: $21.25 per hour

EMT Only Personnel strongly encouraged to apply as well!!

Minimum Qualifications: 

-High School Graduate or GED equivalent
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Possess a valid Driver’s License and possess Emergency Vehicle Operator                                           

-Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

-Knowledge of applications to complete various reports and ability to utilize appropriate technology to complete Patient Care and Fire Reports.

-Health Care Provider and AED/CPR Certification

-Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (one year experience required)
-State of Delaware EMT Certification.

If applying for FF/EMT the below minimum fire certifications are required: 

-Basic Firefighting Skills or equivalent
-Structural Firefighting Skills or equivalent
-Hazardous Materials Response Skills or equivalent
-Vehicle Rescue or equivalent
-Crew Leader or equivalent
-Driver/Operator Course (fire apparatus) or equivalent

-Driving of Fire Apparatus is preferred 

-ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800                                                                                                                         

-Rapid Intervention Team Training (RIT) or equivalent

-Out of State Applicants with NREMT certification are encouraged to apply and will be considered for employment pending Delaware Certification.
