Shift: 24/72 rotation
Summary:
- Responsible for providing emergency medical care, conducting fire suppression and rescue services. Ensure that all regulatory requirements and HIPPA compliance are adhered to.
Assemble all ambulance reports (DMERS) and (NERIS) and submit accordingly. Ensure effective operation of all Fire & EMS equipment by performing routine checks on tools and equipment in addition to station duties of house cleaning and fire prevention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business or community needs.
- Provide daily support for the Firefighter / Emergency Medical Technician Team by providing emergency medical care, conducting fire suppression and rescue services.
- Generate Fire & EMS reports with accuracy and precision meeting the standards of all accrediting and regulatory agencies.
- Provide support for trouble-shooting problems with equipment and apparatus.
- Follow all company SOP’s and New Castle County Policies and have a working knowledge of Quality Assurance.
- Observes established safety guidelines and maintains effectiveness of the company.
- Ability to perform and improve upon procedures and protocols.
- Attention to detail in identification, record keeping and result verification.
- Provide support for regulatory agencies as required.
- Participate in special projects.
- Follow work procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- NFPA Firefighter I & II or Equivalent
- NFPA Fire Officer I or Equivalent
- ICS 100, 200, 300, 700 & 800
- Valid Drivers License
- Delaware EVO and Driver/Operator
- Nationally Registered EMT
- State of Delaware EMT
- CPR/AED
Note:
- Equivalent Classes or National Certifications that may qualify for state of Delaware Reciprocity may be considered at the discretion of the Elsmere Fire Company and the Delaware State Fire School. The Elsmere Fire Company will conduct background and driver license checks.
